I have worked for IDEXX for four years now, but my journey with IDEXX began almost 17 years ago. I spent 13 years working in veterinary hospitals as a veterinary technician and a practice manager and worked with IDEXX products and services the entire time. My last hospital was a Strategic Partner Account for IDEXX, and I met so many wonderful people along the way. From the field teams to the customer support representatives over the phone, every interaction I had with an IDEXX employee made me want to work for IDEXX.
In 2012 I started with IDEXX as a Field Support Representative on the Diagnostics team. Over the next two years our team would continue to grow and evolve along with the rest of the company. One of my biggest concerns when I decided to leave private practice to come work for IDEXX was that I would lose touch with the veterinary industry and no longer have the opportunity to help pets and their owners. My fears could not have been more unsubstantiated. IDEXX strives every day to improve the quality of care veterinarians and their staff are able to provide for their patients. Whether it’s in-house diagnostics, digital radiography, reference lab or practice management software, every part of IDEXX focuses on the pet.
The work that I do every day has a positive impact on the industry and patient care. We truly lead the way and empower veterinarians to practice the best medicine they possibly can. I am so proud to be part of the Field Support team.
Ever since I started my career with IDEXX, my life has changed significantly. Eight years, five roles, and four states later, and I’m working for a company that has brought tremendous positive change, excitement, adventure; most importantly success and growth to my life–and I’m forever grateful. With a biochemistry degree from Bates College, I was a Maine local who ...barely knew the depths of IDEXX. Within my first year as a Customer Support representative for our Companion Animal division in Westbrook, Maine, I was engaged, challenged and consistently pushed to provide the best customer experience. In just over a year, my dedication was rewarded with a promotion and transfer to Savannah, Georgia, to undertake the Field Services Representative role in the former “Southeast Region.” The company approach and mission statement truly resonated with me. I was empowered to make a positive impact every single day! IDEXX trained me well and always pushed me to flourish and progress with my work.
Being able to live in and explore some of the best places in the country–even in the world–is just one perk of working at IDEXX. I have never stayed still; once I mastered something, another opportunity was waiting for me, which is a very important facet to me while working for a company. I strongly believe if you want to flourish in a career path, you need to make sure you partner with the right company, and that’s what IDEXX is for me. I chose IDEXX because I am part of the family.
