Which job looks right for you?

Warehouse Associate

As a Warehouse Associate in an IDEXX distribution center, you may perform a variety of tasks including receiving our products, and pick, pack, load, and shipping of our products to customers and distribution centers.

Production Specialist

As a Production Specialist, you perform a variety of manufacturing tasks producing high quality diagnostic animal products while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing and quality control documents, technical procedures, and government regulations.

Instrument Technician

As an Instrument Technician, you work in a fast-paced, agile and constantly growing environment. Your daily work will consist of performing manufacturing processes, system configuration or troubleshooting and repair tasks supporting a diverse product portfolio of veterinary instruments and supporting technology.

Engineering Technician

As an Engineering Technician, you complete manufacturing maintenance tasks in support of producing high quality medical diagnostic products, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Supervisor

As a Supervisor on one of our Operations teams, you'll lead and manage staff, assign work, monitor activities, evaluate performance, and handle any critical issues that arise.

FAQ

A lot of our positions are suitable for people who have never worked in warehousing, manufacturing, or operations before. Whether you're a new graduate, work in retail or customer service, or have some other type of job experience, we recommend reviewing specific job descriptions before applying - because there certainly are opportunities for you even if this would be your first job in the industry.

Some roles, like an Engineering Technician position for example, will likely require someone who has had experience working in similar jobs.

It depends on the job! Some are daytime shift schedules (1st shift starting earlier in the day, and 2nd starting later in the afternoon), and others are 3rd shift or overnights. Schedules in these jobs are consistent (as opposed to rotational).

Our Warehousing teams work only 1st or 2nd shifts, but for other teams within IDEXX Operations, you'll find job opportunities on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

We provide structured on-the-job training, including cross-training and continuous learning.

We also use a platform called Skillsoft, which grants access to online educational courses.

About the different departments in IDEXX Operations

Engineering

The way our team approaches problem-solving and processes is compelling. It’s a heavy Lean and Six Sigma structured problem-solving culture. There is a whole team of people dedicated to it, including a rotational program. IDEXX even has its own internal Lean certification and training program.

Manufacturing

Our manufacturing facilities are safe, bright, and clean environments. The teams that work in this area of Operations are very innovative and work consistent schedules with no weekend work. Without the skilled expertise and commitment to quality of our manufacturing employees, we couldn't get the products out that our customers need.

Key IDEXX manufacturing sites are in Westbrook, ME, Scarborough, ME, and Roswell, GA.

Warehousing

Our warehouses in Maine (located in Westbrook, Scarborough, and Portland) and Memphis, TN are unique warehouses. Employees internalize material requests from production areas to keep manufacturing moving along, so there’s lots of variety: everything from handling vials of chemicals to pallets of plastics. It’s not just picking, packing and other more traditional tasks. Employees perform all functions of inventory control and materials.

(Most of our warehouses are even air-conditioned!)

SNAP Tests

Make a difference, 19 million times a year.

Our SNAP tests detect many different illnesses in cats, dogs, and horses. The tests you build improve and save the lives of pets around the world. When someone's pet is ill, they want to know what's wrong, right away. That's where you make an impact.

The IDEXX SNAP Test our manufacturing team builds each day gives veterinarians fast, accurate results - right in the office, when it counts.

OPTI-Medical

Save lives in the emergency room. The OPTI Medical critical care business is focused on developing portable instruments for measuring time-sensitive diagnositcs tests like blood gas, electrolyte, and metabolite analyses.

These analyzers are primarily used in the emergency room, operating room, cardiac-monitoring area, and any location where time-critical diagnostic testing is performed in a hospital. The OPTI analyzers utilize an optical reflectance sensor technology that is very reliable and stable.

Water Testing Solutions

IDEXX is the global leader in microbiological water testing. Offering solutions for drinking water, waste water, on-premise water and recreational water. Our tests are easy to use. They only take a few steps to set up and the results are ready in less than 18 hours!
